Why I LOVE Yoga

I love yoga for what is does to keep me feeling whole, balanced, grounded, vibrant, peaceful and in the present moment. As a yoga teacher, healer and wellness enthusiast, yoga is a lifestyle practice I maintain to remain connected to my inner source and my true essence.

My first hatha yoga experience was when I was 14 years old with my mom at an adult education series in Forest Hills, NY. I later attended yoga classes sporadically as an adult. In 1993, I joined a Zen mediation series and began a meditation practice. In 1997, a therapist recommended I practice yoga for stress release. At that time I was working in Manhattan as a systems project manager commuting from NJ. After experiencing various classes with different teachers I began to appreciate the vast benefits of yoga and was eager to learn more.

In September 1999, I joined a yoga teacher training and from this point forward my life was never the same. It was a complete life changing experience. I started teaching in April 2000 at a local studio and graduated from the yoga teacher training the end of May 2000. A month later, for various personal reasons, I resigned from my corporate job in NYC. Over time I began to teach more and enjoyed sharing the wonderful benefits with others. The more I taught & shared with others my own personal journey of yoga deepened.

My daily practice includes various forms of meditation, deep relaxation, hatha yoga, and therapeutic grade essential oils. I study with various teachers to elevate my personal growth and teach both group and private classes. My favorite meditation and relaxation practice is Yoga Nidra.
